Congregation to Award Mission Endowment Grant in 2025

The Mission Endowment Fund (MEF) Committee is pleased to announce that we have a little over $25,000 available for grants.

These funds are available because of income received in 2023 and 2024 on our investments from endowment donations.

Grants are funded from income produced from our investments and must be in support of one of the following three ministry areas:

  1. New or enhanced ministries of All Saints Lutheran Church.
  2. Outreach ministries in the Metropolitan Washington, DC area, including Bowie.
  3. Mission of the ELCA in the United States and worldwide.

For 2025 applications will be accepted through June 15, 2025. The Committee will review and provide recommendations for approval to the council grants will be issued in early Fall 2025.

In 2024, we had no requests for grant money. We believe there were needs that simply weren’t expressed.  Last year we posted the grant form on our website and facebook page, as well as making reminders during church announcements on Sundays. This year we will also have some printed copies available on the table in the Narthex, should you like to review and submit your application in paper. Click here for the grant application.

Contributions to the Mission Endowment Fund are welcome anytime, and there are many ways to contribute. You may prepare a legacy gift with your financial planner, make a contribution of cash, stock, or other means. If you or someone you know would like more information about the Mission Endowment Fund and how to contribute, a member of the MEF Committee or Pastor Lura will be happy to talk with you.

The members of the 2025 MEF Committee are: Chair, Sharron Sample, Uzumo Ariguzo, Susan DeHart, Dave Conrad, Rob Watson, Ann Vos, and Tom Knoll.
